5 Things Hoola Instructor won’t tell you

Nobody cares whether you can hoop or not.

Seriously. Everybody is so busy with their own hoops nobody even knows you are there! ;o) We are there to make sure you have a good workout and to make you feel great. (Just picking up the hoop off the floor is a great workout in itself!) Practice makes perfect. You will totally get it. Whether it’s in the first, second or third session, nobody cares. You will get it – and once you do… it’s amazing!

Hooping isn’t about how you look, it’s about you feel

This one is crucial! Can you do the hoop vortex? Can you spin 15 hoops at once? All of these things are fun, but at the end of the day all that matters is how you feel.
So, forget the hard hoop tricks or even the fancy-patterned leggings with matching bra if you don’t have them. Nobody cares what you wear! As long as you are comfortable, safe and feeling great we are totally happy! All that matters is how you feel!

You don’t need to be super sporty to be good at hooping

If we had a penny for every time we heard someone say, “I can’t hoola hoop,” we’d all be driving round in brand new Mercs. It’s like saying you’re too dirty to take a bath! The whole purpose of hooping is to help you with your “sportiness” – work on your strength, agility, balance and body toning. Give it time— hooping is here to help you out, not embarrass or demean you.

Enjoy being a beginner

Hooping has taught many of us that the journey is far greater than the result. Sure, being a beginner can be a bumpy, ego-bruising time. But it’s also a time when you’re excited, ambitious, and eager to soak everything in. Enjoy this journey, because it’s only a matter of time before you figure it out, master it, and long for something new that exhilarates you the same way.

Don’t take yourself too seriously

Hooping in its essence is a childish play. Let’s make the most of it. It’s a brilliant a way to switch off for an hour…. Don’t feel you can’t come to the class because you are not in the happy mood or you are having a super bad day. The exact opposite. Come to hooping class because you feel s**t and switch off for a little while. Listen up: We want to see you in the class more than anything! We are there to lift your spirits or just enjoy the music with you. Come and play!
